DESCRIPTION:Come join us at *your* downtown Santa Cruz community fruit orchard! Following up on last month’s successful planting of the first 16 trees (apples\, pears\, citrus\, stonefruit!) at our new Mike Fox Park site on the lower San Lorenzo river levee\, this Sunday we’ll be rounding things out with several more trees (persimmon\, mulberry\, more!)\, doing some gentle companion planting\, and digging some fun trenches to lay out our irrigation plumbing. We’ll also discuss the technical basics of irrigating the small scale or backyard orchard. \nAll ages and ability levels encouraged to come join the fun; work at your comfort level\, or just come see what it’s all about. Wear your work shoes\, bring a mattock or trenching shovel if you’ve got\, extra tools will be available.
