Santa Cruz Garden Effort
This is a collaborative campaign to help people start growing food, and growing more food, in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With supply lines strained and a faltering economy, we affirm the continued importance of hyperlocal and dispersed food production for human health and security.
Join the network and the conversation on Facebook, and let us know what you need (or what you have to offer) to start growing more food locally. Or just show us what you’ve got growing to inspire others!
A word of caution: With all your gardening efforts and provision of essential needs, it remains crucial that we all continue to follow hygienic protocols and safe social distancing. We are still just at the beginning of this COVID-19 rollercoaster, and many will die. See recommendations and guidelines at Santa Cruz County, State of California, CDC, and WHO.
